4. Data collection on this website

Cookies

Our website uses so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packages and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.

Cookies may originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services of third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to evaluate user behaviour or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions requested by you (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Where consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG); consent can be revoked at any time.

You can set your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies and to allow cookies only in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally, and to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.

The provider of this technology is Complianz B.V., Kalmarweg 14-5, 9723 JG Groningen, Netherlands (hereinafter “Complianz”).

Complianz is hosted on our servers, so no connection is established to the servers of the Complianz provider. Complianz stores a cookie in your browser in order to be able to assign the consent given or its revocation to you. The data collected in this way is stored until you request its deletion, delete the Complianz cookie yourself, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

Complianz is used in order to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – for this purpose, server log files must be recorded.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

Enquiry by e-mail, telephone or fax

If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request.

The data you send us via contact requests will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

Communication via WhatsApp

For communication with our customers and other third parties, we use, among other things, the instant messaging service WhatsApp. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Communication takes place via end-to-end encryption (peer-to-peer), which prevents WhatsApp or other third parties from gaining access to the communication content. However, WhatsApp does receive access to metadata generated in the course of the communication process (e.g. sender, recipient and time). We would also like to point out that, according to its own statement, WhatsApp shares personal data of its users with its parent company Meta, based in the USA. Further details on data processing can be found in WhatsApp’s privacy policy at: https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/#privacy-policy.

WhatsApp is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in the fastest and most effective communication possible with customers, prospective customers and other business and contractual partners (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Where corresponding consent has been requested, data processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of consent; this can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

The communication content exchanged between you and us on WhatsApp will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

The company holds a certification under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). Further information can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/participant-search/participant-detail?contact=true&id=a2zt00000011sfnAAA&status=Active

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Tag Manager is a tool that allows us to integrate tracking or statistical tools and other technologies on our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies and does not carry out any independent analyses. It merely serves to manage and deliver the tools integrated via it. However, Google Tag Manager does record your IP address, which may also be transferred to Google’s parent company in the United States.

Google Tag Manager is used on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the fast and straightforward integration and management of various tools on its website. Where corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG, insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information on the user’s device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

The company holds a certification under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). Further information can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/participant-search/participant-detail?contact=true&id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, length of stay, operating systems used and the origin of the user. This data is combined into a user ID and assigned to the respective device of the website visitor.

Furthermore, with Google Analytics we can record, among other things, your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Google Analytics also uses various modelling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and uses machine learning technologies for data analysis.

Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the recognition of the user for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

This data may be used for personalised advertising with the help of Google Signals. If you have a Google account, the visitor data from Google Signals will be linked to your Google account and used for personalised advertising messages. The data is also used to create anonymised statistics on the user behaviour of our users.

Data processing agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the European data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Microsoft Advertising

The website operator uses Microsoft Advertising. Microsoft Advertising is an online advertising programme of Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA.

Microsoft Advertising enables us to display advertisements in the Bing search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms in Bing (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed based on the user data available at Microsoft (e.g. location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analysing which search terms led to the display of our advertisements and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.

On this site we use the universal event tracking (UET) of Microsoft Advertising. Pseudonymised data is collected in order to track which actions you carry out on our websites after you have clicked on an advertisement on Microsoft Advertising. UET records your IP address (anonymised), device identifiers, information about device and browser settings, the Microsoft Click ID (stored in a cookie), time spent on the website, which areas of the website were accessed, which advertisement brought you to the website, and the keyword clicked.

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/compliance/regulatory/offering-eu-model-clauses.

Audience building with customer match

For audience building we use, among other things, the customer match function of Google Ads Remarketing. In doing so, we transfer certain customer data (e.g. e-mail addresses) from our customer lists to Google. If the customers concerned are Google users and are logged into their Google account, matching advertising messages will be displayed to them within the Google network (e.g. on YouTube, Gmail or in the search engine).

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.
